What a Day!!

I spent a good part of it outside doing preliminary work in the garden. I say THE garden because I have the feeling it is the only one our poor house is going to have this year. I know Fam has no plans to visit and work on it. This makes me want to cultivate mine even more. The idea of having the back yard ALL TO MYSELF is very appealing. Yes, I know there will be the workmen, etc, and that the garden will be screwed when I go off to college, but maybe I can get one of my underclassmen green-thumb friends to care for it for me. I'll be sure to tell them which ones are poisonous. Specially the Virgin's Bower, since it excretes that skin irritant sap.

I was happy that so many of my plants survived the winter. I have several little vetrans now, and am quite pleased. I was a bad mommy, but they made it through anway. So this year I am going to make them a lot of happy friends. My lavender plant made it, two of my English Thyme did, one of my sage, an alyssum, two chamomile, and the root systems of my orange and spearmint. Sadly, no chocolate mint made it through. So I am treating the roots like cuttings, and hopefully I will soon have new mint plants to take care of properly this time so they don't run amuk.

Found a baby-sitter for Edessa, my orchid, and Felipe, my mini-palm. They will be in good hands when I am in Pensacola.

Less than a week until Pensacola!!! AAAAAAAAAAH!! There's still so much to plan!!!

I love this!

::EDIT 6:24 PM::
Fixed my commenting system. I might change the main font now, too, since I've gotten complaints from two complete strangers. I never knew people actually READ this. Now I feel ashamed for polluting Blogger users with my stupidity.

Climbing Nightshade

I also bought these

Spiny Thingies Climb on Stuff and Burn Your Skin with Their Sap

This would look great in my room

It Would Hide My Hypothetical Goldfish From Bob

A New Goal

I must buy new plants. I wants them. I needs them. What is them?

1) A venus flytrap. Of course. Who can resist??!
2) A maple bonsai. It goes with my Room-ma.
3) An Atropa belladonna plant. I just need to make sure Fam never learns that it is poisonous. And probably tell my room-mate that it IS, because they bear fruit.

EDIT 9:43 PM

Well, the damage is done. I found a Wiccan supply site and ordered some Belladonna seeds. Soon I will be attempting to grow a very dangerous, very pretty plant.

A BIT ABOUT BELLADONNA:
Named "Atropos" for the Fate that cuts the thread of life. "Bella Donna", Italian for fair/pretty lady. Supposedly used to be used to dialate the eyes and make you look more sexy.

Very poisonous, which is sad because the shiny black berries are evidently very sweet. Leaves, roots, everything can kill you. If your hands are abraded or cut it is not recommended that you touch this plant. It has lovely purple flowers and large, sometimes hairy leaves. Supposedly grows fine potted indoors, which makes it perfect for my purposes. Which is not, despite SK's worries, to poison all of you. Or Bob.

I hate myself. I sneezed blood. I'm just glad I had a tissue.

Thought of the Morning

Cosmo Girl's cover story? "the fun way to get a rock hard body: these intense moves really work!" If it was just regular Cosmo I'd assume the "intense, great workout" was to fuck at least three times a day in various recommended positions, especially their (probably patented) Electric Butterfly.

Man. See what happens when I allow myself to have a relaxing morning? Well, the truth is that I have no clean clothes, so I'm waiting for them to dry. If I leave home by 7:30, I can get Tiny One to school on time, grab the Environmental Club binder, and head off to Hixson to try to sucker young idiots into loving trees.

I may have overbooked my day again. I don't have enough willpower to get my full license, find a bathing suit I don't hate, go out to lunch, study for a Japanese test, and play pool later on. I just kinda wanna sleep, actually, but that could just be because it's only seven AM or so.

I tried to eat breakfast, but discovered I'm not very hungry, so I had hot darjeeling tea, an orange, and three thin mints. I'll hate myself in an hour.

I've been eating lots of thin mints recently. I should work out today, too.

Damn it. Where is all my motivation? How can I be a model for Ms. Batgirl to learn by if I kep on saying things like this where she can read? ; ) We're all human, dahling. That's my disclaimer.

I hate this layout, too. But soon I shall tweak it and be temporarily satisfied. I just want a piccy, damn it.

I wonder if my jeans are dry yet. Heh. Reminds me of that post a long time back about the Happy Shower Dude.

Yet Another Installment of Existentialist Bullshit

Today I have decided that everyone ends up alone. No matter how many friends they have, no matter how articulate they are, they feel utterly alone. I don't know what it is about the human brain that keeps us from feeling understood. It's like the cerebral cortex is a massive maze, and we have so much trouble sorting out who WE are within it that we assume no one else can do it, either. It makes sense. If I don't know me, how can anyone else? Where can they even begin if I can't give them a clue?

It's amazing and quite a bit sad. I wonder why humans are built to be such separate entities. Why we have so many invisible barriers between ourselves and everyone else. We're trapped inside our own body, and everyone else around us is in the same situation. All stuck inside the bars of language and thought...(what a trite way to say it. Good grief.) And we're just trying to figure out why we want to cry even when we're in a room full of our friends.

Is there a single person out there who doesn't feel like this? I don't feel it all the time. But sometimes, when I'm looking at the people I know, these people who I wish I could make understand what I'm really trying to say, no matter how happy I am I just feel so lonely, so lost. But it makes those rare moments when I look at someone and think "wow, they actually understand," they understand what I mean, underneath whatever I'm saying, when they connect on that most basic of all levels....The loneliness is worth it just to make those times feel even better. Heh. So all my bitter tears at night are validated when I find that I am on the same page as somebody else.

Soon, Soon...

Currently sick of this layout. Plan to overhaul the entire damn thing tonight. I'm sick of my archive bar crapping out on me. Bastardized crappy thing.

::EDIT 8:25 PM::
Well, this is an improvement. I'll keep tweaking with it later, but for now, it's time to go showaaaaaaaaaah!

3.09.2004

This could have been the night of Hell

...but it wasn't. All the pieces were there, they just didn't click. Over the course of the night our computers froze and restarted seven times, forcing us to do half of our tansactions manually and invent a tax rate. Despite this, our drawer was only 9 cents off. Then, I found out that I still have a manager's password from Hell Day on Friday, and I found out AFTER I checked movies out to AK that I can get us points off on the audit. But then again, Rugbitchy does it all the time, so maybe it's not all that bad after all.

Anyway, the point is that the computers were trying to bring me down. And they failed. Damn, I'm tired!

3.08.2004

Tee Hee

I amuse far too easily. For example, I was in hysterics over a recent away message of mine:

(__|__)

Simply that. No text. Just bum. See, my thing was I knew if I IMed someone/ checked their profile and THAT came up that I would feel very violated and offended. And, other people's reactions were pretty interesting, too.

BWAHAHA. Leave it to me to have a bad iconic butt make me giggle in the shower.

. . .

My brain is dead. UUUUGH!

EDIT 3:45 PM
It stayed dead for the entire day, too. That Cat's Eye novel is really getting to me. Aside from typing almost two pages of that Pride and Prejudice extra chapter assignment in 5th hour and forcing myself to watch my math teacher talk to herself out loud for the whole hour in 7th, I just read that book all day. And I have a surprisingly small amount of homework, regardless. Just more project to type. And uh...vocab and hotel.

I'm, uh....gonna go read. It calls to me.

3.07.2004

I am so bitter at the world right now. Today I figured out that my computers are actually networked and that I can move files from one to the other sans CD-Rs, etc....But the Ubermachine and the Entity do not get along. It's because the Entity is very sick and neglected. And has a very short attention span.

SO anyway. This whole employee pick thing is turning into a bigger mess than I thought originally. At least Ms. Batgirl's here to commiserate with me.

EDIT 9:38 PM
Things To Do
1) homework? whatever.
2) Call Yellow Card and see if he wants to play pool with me and Rose.
3) See what city is 3/4 of the way between Pensacola and here and book a hotel.
4) Order a replacement Buddha fish. ::sigh:: Why didn't the Darwin fall off? It was the less cool of the two...

3.06.2004

I feel better now.

I Need to Find My Equilibrium

I once told Ms. Batgirl that my goal in life is to foster a sense of disequilibrium in everyone around me. I did not, however, want to include MYSELF in that goal. I need to find my happy medium, sit down, and stay there indefinitely.

If you can't tell, this is shaping up to be a pretty bad day. The three people I desperately want to talk to about it, tho, are not online, so I'm shut up in my room, letting my disappointment fester. See, I got home from inventory at 4:45 AM and promptly collapsed into bed, and the day has been all downhill from there. I was just drifting off to sleep when I heard Fam wake up and go into the kitchen. Once there, she began to UNLOAD THE DISHWASHER. IT WAS 5 AM. W H A T T H E H E L L ! She wasn't even attempting to do it quietly. Cabinets were slamming, dishes were crashing to the floor, etc. So I drag my tired ass out of bed, resenting every cell in her body because she had gotten a full night's rest while I was off messing up my wrists some more, open my door, and say as politely as my brain would allow: "Could you wait until a less ungodly hour of the morning to clean the kitchen?"

A moment of silence. Then, slightly miffed: "I was done, anyway."

Riiiiight. I slump back into bed and am woken up by my alarm at 10AM. I get up, get ready to go over to hang with Fro, God, SLAM, and Mr. 7-7-7. SLAM comes to pick me up, and we drop by my work to get some soda. MOD-sama is working, and he is pissed. So he tells me yes, I do have to come in, but he doesn't necessarily want me to ruin my day, so not to come in at two. He's mad because he's opening alone on a Saturday morning the day after inventory. And I do not blame him. So I told him I'd be in around three.

Well, then off to God and Fro's. We hang out for a bit, then God gets a migraine, so everyone packs up to head home. SLAM had told me earlier he wanted to hang out with me after D&D, so I suggested that we play some frisbee. But he changed his mind and decided he'd rather swordfight with Fro and his buddies instead. So he dropped my ass off.

What pisses me off about this is that he had just gotten done throwing a small fit b/c I was going to be busy with a group project all next week. And here was a chance for us to hang out. I was in a good mood, and I wanted to see him before work, but no. So here I am, in my room, highly upset, while he's off outside beating people up.

Why am I so upset, tho? I guess it's because I feel snubbed. And because I feel like he reneged on our plans. And, ok, FINE...I really wanted to see him.

I need a hug.

So, as you can see, Random Reader, I am not quite in the best state of mind to Active Sell tonight. And I have this overwhelming urge to go get something pierced.

The moral of the story? I'll be headed into work at two or so, since there's nothing better for me to do anymore today. I might as well get PAID to be miserable and pissy, ya know? Well, just a warning, there is no way possible for me to get enough eyeliner on to compensate for how I feel. So all the customers tonight are probably screwed.

I have a Buddha fish on my car. ::bitter laughter:: If only I took my own advice and saw everything in perspective once in a while.

3.05.2004

More Existentialist Bullshit

I think I'd be a whole lot happier right now if I felt like I was in control. But the funny thing is that the older I get, the less in control I feel. I've let so many things I'm good at kind of slide away as I go, so I am left with fewer and fewer talents. Drawing, painting, playing my flute, my ambition. I am happy to have earned grades now that two years ago I would have cried over.

I can't decide whether this is a reality check, or if I am becoming less of a person. I know I'm getting older, but sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder why my sophomore self isn't looking back. Back then (I thought) I knew what I wanted. I was livelier and more active, I still had a drive to succeed, I knew what I wanted out of my life. But now that it's time for me to really take control...I have no clue where to go. I'm no longer sure where I want to work. I have yet to find anything that can replace cross country for me. My flute hasn't been played for over a year now. And if I felt like it, I'd probably still be drawing, but at this point it's too late for me to develop any sort of real talent.

I'm not upset, really. I hope it doesn't sound like I am. It's just that when I was younger I never knew that the only difference between a kid and an adult is how confused you are. I'm not nearly confused enough to be an adult yet, thank everything, so don't grab me the happy pills just yet.

I just wish parents would prepare you for never knowing what the fuck is going on until it's too late.

If I had been made prepared, I might know then who's looking back in the mirror.

Good Morning!!

I'm feeling a lot more optimistic after ten hours of sleep. Well, slightly less than that, because at 10:30 MiniFam threw a marvelous fit when Fam tried to make her go to bed. She stood at the top of the stairs and screamed for quite a while, and eventually Fam stood at the bottom of the steps and screamed right back up. So that kept me up (obviously). This morning I was tempted to ask to stay home, but that would just cause even more problems, becuase THEN they'd try to keep me from doing inventory tonight. And while in theory that is a good thing, in reality it is a very, very BAD thing. I really doubt the SM would appreciate me missing the most unholy of all shifts.

This morning I think I am going to put my new car decorations on! I got a Buddha fish and Darwin fish, and soon I'll also have a bumper sticker that says "the best things in life aren't THINGS." I hope I won't be pissing off too many Christians because I think the Buddha fish is cute and find it possible to believe in evolution AND God. I've never undersdtood why it is such an ISSUE. (You should see this fish. He's so fat!!!)

Oh, crap. It's time to go to school.

EDIT 3:59 PM
Well, I got my internet working properly. No more of this pretend 28.8 dial-up crap. No way, not for me. Now my only issue will be trying to keep Fam away from the Linksys card until I can get around to buying another one. Hello, another $100 worth of hardware!!

Man. I'm having issues with this one kid in my math class. I was really impressed with him on Monday, but today I am a bit sick of him. Monday he made me very happy because he asked me to sign the petition for the GSA (to change the discrimination policy to include sexual orientation). I was happy because, not only is he male, he is a devout Christian. Yes, he thinks homosexuality is wrong, which does not surprise me, but he also feels that it is not his place to judge. I was just thrilled to have met another truly tolerant Christian. He knows how to accept other people's beliefs, and he is respectful enough to not foist his ideas off on other people if they aren't interested.

But: Today I overheard him saying he likes to sit a certain way in these pants he was wearing because it "makes his cock look huge". I was not impressed.

3.04.2004

NGAAAH!!

"Ngaaah" is Wren-speaky for a condition of extreme stress-- so extreme, in fact, that it is impossible to find suitable words to express it.

I use ngaaah a lot. This week I'm using it because I am incredibly tired. SO VERY tired. I worked Tues till cls, and last night till cls, and I have to get up insanely early to get to school. Yees, my co-workers, (who thankfully do not read this) I know I deserve no symnpathy. Yes, MiniMOD, I know you're working more than I am, and in college. But that's what you get for getting promoted. HA! ::cue guilt::

Tonight is really my only night to sleep, because tomorrow night I have to work from nine PM till inventory is over (five AM-ish), then I have to get up early to hang out with SLAM, Fro, God, and Mr. 7-7-7. Then it's WORK! 5-10....but I think that 10 thing is a LIE. Then Sunday Ms. Batgirl and I have secret evil plans to attend to. They envolve the Employee Pick wall. Soon, our store will have taste.

Alright. Minasan oyasumi nasai! Watashi no BEDDO o ikimasu!

3.03.2004

HMMMMM

I was sitting in "Intro to Calc" (translation: Study Hall) today, done with all my homework, brainstorming a list of ideas to blog, when I realized that I have been called or compared to a lot of animals in my life. This is, I am sure you have figured out, not going to be a dignified post in the least. But, it WILL be amusing, and we all know I understand the value of a little self-depreciation. After all, it's good for the ego, what?

1) The earliest one I can remember is "Skink". That was my mom's other nickname for me in grade school besides Skin Bone. I have no idea why she chose this animal...but I remember always being slighty worried. But, I was obsessed with lizards, my fave color was blue (blue-tongued skink), and I loved to scramble about on things. So maybe it isn't as bad as it sounds. It's not as if I didn't lotion, so I know I didn't get the nickname from peely skin or anything. And I absolutely LOATHED bugs.

2) My art teacher in seventh grade compared me to an Afgan Hound. I was freaked out because I thought they were ugly as all hell. And my earlier experiences with being called a dog at the bus stop were not pleasant (damn skater boys. ((WILL NOT TYPE BOI!!))) But she tried to explain, and for a while I took it as quite a compliment. Now, though, I kinda look back on it with this sense of bitterness. Anyway. She said she called me that because they were sophisticated, calm animals with fabulous hair. Either I have backslid immensly since I was that age, or she was treating me in the manner of a Mrs. Bennet-- as in I'm not capable of understanding when I'm being made fun of. Hence the bitterness now. Fab hair. RIIIIIGHT. (::ahem:: fiiiine, and the other stuff, too, let's just cut me all the way down guys, why not?!)

3) When I told my mom about what my art teacher had said, she told me I was more like a hummingbird (didn't the art teacher call YOU that, Abigale?). Why? Because I was hyper and liked sugar, I guess. But I don't think hummingbirds have a sophisticated air. So that took me down a notch.

4) Someone once told me I reminded them of a macaw because of my nose and the noises I make. This is back when I was sensitive about my nose, so I was very insulted. Now I just laugh, cuz I CAN sound a bit birdike when I'm surprised.

5) I've been told if I was food I'd be chicken (look, it's an animal, ok?!) because everthing tastes like chicken...and so it follows that I "go with everything". This is coming from the same guy who said I was shaped like a banana. Needless to say, I was pissed. I think I tied his shoelaces together. AHH, sophisticated revenge.

6) Some silly people tell me I'm like a cat. But that's a stereotypical animal to call a girl, so I never take them seriously. But in grade school I DID earn the nickname by biting and clawing and sneaking up/jumping on people. So back then it wasn't completely unfounded.

7) I always just wanted to be a unicorn.

More sighing. heh.

Sometimes at work I am the most moronic person in the world. I seriously think I act dumber when I'm working, and I don't know why. Possibly boredom, because none of my co-workers are lacking in intelligence. And maybe it would all be ok if they didn't have to see me past the infamous 10:30 mark where my brain shuts off every night and leaves SOMETHING EVIL behind.

Regardless of why, here's a lovely example of my stupidity. I know you all looooove these stories, (you three people who read this). XD Well, I was working with the Mini-MOD. I was at a register, watching TV/ helping the few customers that came in, and he goes out to his car to get something, then comes back in and goes behind the counter with me for a sec. As he pops back out onto the floor, I take a sip of water, and he flips out and goes "What are you doing?!"

It was his water bottle. He'd set it down after getting it from his car. Mine was underneath the counter.

Well, I remember MOD-sama spazzing out cuz I did that to his Coke once (I'm a drink whore), so I offered to buy him a new one. And he said no, that's fine. And I assured him I wasn't sick. He did have to describe all the things he'd eaten so I knew what was in his backwash, but heck. He's male. Of course he did that. (He might be insulted if he ever read that.) I need to stop with the crappy sterotyping.

Other than that there's all the homework I didn't do. But that's normal.

Eyeliner, then school. <3!!

3.01.2004

le sigh

life will never be easy, will it?

My alter-ego

Well, there's a CSR meeting I have to leave for in about 15 minutes. I'm all dressed and ready to go. I've noticed that every time I oversleep I overcompensate when I get home by getting all made up and overly dressy. Sadly for my co-workers, I tend to oversleep on days when we have meetings. So every time they see me out of uniform I'm all tricked out and scary with all the heavy jewelry and the eyeliner clashing with the sweet make-up. Today I look like the Scary Tramp-Vamp Schoolgirl From Hell.

Last meeting I got all into it. I had extra buttons undone on my shirt and like three feet of eyeliner on. We were brainstorming how we could boost sales, and my brilliant ideas were 1) buy me more soda, and 2) allow me to proposition the customers. The SM didn't get it and asked me to explain. I grinned, re-crossed my legs, and leaned forward suggestively, then said "You know, I could dress up as Blockbuster Whore. I bet I could get some stuff to sell THEN." War Boy was astonished into silence. The SM just looked at me like I'd gone insane.

But today I have a feeling will be worse, because I'm wearing my "Hey! Stare At My Chest As I Walk By In the Halls, Really, I Don't Care, Asshole!" shirt. I am also listening to White Zombie. And I'm wearing the "Sex Eyes" makeup. That's when you put the darker color on the outise of your eyes. It makes them look more closed and dreamy. And It makes winks MUCH more impressive.

I pity my co-workers. But then again, they deserve it.

Awww, crap. I'm guilty.

2.29.2004

A Promising Start

It's sunny out, and my family wants to go to the zoo. Of course I declined. It has yet to regain is magic. Did it ever even have magic? Yeah, I guess when I worked in the CZ it was really cool. But now...it just makes me bitter.

So anyway. They will be out of the house, and I'll be free to do my own thing until I go tripping off to work. WHEE!

EDIT 1:10 PM:
Went out for a stroll and ended up somewhere in Ladue. Spent thirty or forty minutes working my way back to a street I knew so I could head home. My legs are twitching now, but it was SO MUCH FUN. I'm going to try and get lost on EVERY nice day.

A lady just walked by my window holding a wreath.

Oh! And I found the one spot in my room where the internet works really well! It is so odd. The Ubermachine definitely has personality.

2.28.2004

This looks like it wants to eat me!

Why I want to live in the Botanical Gardens

So Freaking Pretty

...aaaand

Add fix the computer to the list. I wish Fam would realize that the Internet is NOT a safe place and would quit clicking "yes" to every thing websites say we need. AGH.

And then there's Unc and his porn. I should yell at HIM, too. Porn sites give computers VD.

MMMM, Zen

I am in a much better mood today because I managed to enter a Zen-like trance. Well, I also spent the whole day out of my house.

I was woken up this morning, as usual, by Unc and Fam standing outside my bedroom door arguing. About whether or not to invite me to breakfast. Unc always says "C'mon, I'm gonna ask" and Fam is always "She NEVER goes! It's a waste of time!" As always, Unc asks anyway, and as always, I say no. Why? They always wait until they are walking out the door, *then* ask me. And I am by no means going to just get my ass up and throw on some pants and go to breakfast with my eyeliner around my lips and my hair doing its best forest shrub impression. I usually ask them to wait for me to shower, and they always decide to just go ahead without me. So by this point it's just the big Saturday ritual. We know how it'll end up....but we do it anyway.

But! It's good! Because I can spend Le Hour of Crankyness all alone in the house. So I got to wake up with some tea and some Dungeon Siege. Then around noon I ate, showered, and finished Pride and Prejudice. ::swoon:: I adore that book! Absolutely ADORE it!!! Jane Austen is the best female author ever. I have her sense of humor. I'm on her level, yo. And, deep down inside, I'm a really girly person. I kinda like that kind of romance. The non-sappy kind. The kind with the gowns and the coats-and-tails and the carriage rides and the British moors. Yeah. ((Now I have this urge to go climb a tree and get all dirty and beat up someone b/c I just called myself girly. I need to move on.))

So I got ready, used my new eyeshadow brush, and went out into that FABULOUS day to spend the rest of my giftcards. This is what I came back with three and a half hours later:

1) My own copy of Pride and Prejudice. It's paperback, but it's annotated. I can't resist official editions.
2) Sense and Sensibility, also by Ms. Austen. I was gushing to sensei one day about how much I loved Pride, and she told me this was better. I am skeptical, but I can't wait to find out.
3) Mints that taste like roses smell.
4) Mints that are like the rose ones but have something to do with violets. I have yet to get up the nerve to try them.
5) Three new pillows to add to my Room-ma.
6) A CD of White Zombie remixes that makes me feel stoned and under permanent blacklight, and Orgy. The one with Blue Monday and Stitches on it. You know, "Candyass"!!
7) Three book on gardening. One is the size of a large dictionary, the other two the size of coloring books. All three were really colorful and pretty, which is probably why I bought them. But they look useful, too!! Yes! I had a real reason!
8) A coke.
9) A place where I can get orchid fertilizer. They also told me who would be able to order the bonsai tree I want.
10) Bubble gum!!!

Then I find out that the evening will be to myself, as well, because Fam and Unc are going out. So I plan on watching The First Wives' Club becuase I read the book but haven't seen the movie, clean my room, and possibly do my Pegasus homework. Then tomorrow I can fry my brain with my philosophy homework before I go work with Mini-MOD. He wants me to make him a CD. (If I do, I'll probably call it the "Deathbitch Mix.")

One last note before I hand the computer over to Fam: I love the Gas House Car Wash. Why? Their new marquee says "Please note: Our washes contain ZERO carbs"!!!! The Atkins diet is everywhere, but at least this is funny and not sickening. Like we have low-carb bread in the fridge. BREAD. I am afriad to read the package and see what the heck they did to it.

First off let me start by saying that Fam is incredibly fucking dense. She came in half-asleep and just started being all pissy and annoying....and if she can't tell that I'm upset right now, she's blind. And she's not blind, so that leaves her being STUPID.

We had inventory tonight, and I am so close to quitting now that it isn't even funny. I went in on time and was promptly accosted by AK, who has a sinus infection and was all sniffly and drugged up on Flonase. First words out of her mouth? "What did you do to the wall?"

Alright. A little side note here. AK is a total SPAZZ about the wall. Normally it's cool, but every time I have to do it intead of her she rags on me for my alphabetization. First of all, it is ABSOLUTLEY IMPOSSIBLE to get the wall into perfect alpha. I do not get paid enough to do it. There are not enough hours in my day or possibly cells in my brain. It's just not gonna happen. It's also against BBV policy. They want the wall to look good. All the big blocks of titles go in order...all the small titles fill in the gaps. She yells at me for putting one row of A Mighty Wind before one full bay of Matchstick Men, which is right. I spend thirty minutes trying NOT to yell at her for putting major titles in the bottom three rows their first week out. Major titles ALWAYS debut in the top three rows.

Plus, I spent Monday fixing all HER problems, according to MOD-sama. The wall is a matter of taste, and she is NOT the queen of it.

I hate that. I've been here longer than her. I am the same level as her. But every since she has worked there she has tried to tell me what to do. It pisses me off, but I like her, so I try to suck it up or tell her as politely as possible to lay off of me and do her own job.

Well, then Sasquatch (affectionately named that b/c he's big and slightly smelly) offers me some sausage pizza, and I accept it and start picking off the sausage. Well, them AK and War Boy are all on me for being a vegitarian. I try for the sixtieth time to explain that I am NOT, I just decided one day not to eat beef or pork. (This has been a major issue for a while now. I used to tell people I was a red meat vegitarian and they'd yell at me cuz I don't eat veggies. So once I realized it would be easier not to call myself that, I stopped, and now everyone just thinks I'm freaking insane, and the vegitarians hate me for not having a "real reason." I have a reason: FUCK YOU. There.)

Then War Boy looks at my wrist braces and goes "What's up with those? What are you, Professional Inventory Girl?" And he has the nerve to laugh when I get upset. My wrists fucking HURT, you guys. No, hairstylist, they are NOT for fashion. No, War Boy, they are NOT to get me "in the groove." To the boy in math class, I am not going boxing. And to the customers/random lady at the hair salon, I do NOT want to discuss the location of my pain/ the relative merits of different kinds of braces with you. No, I don't care that you have it too.

Well, then the SM is late cuz she overslept, so we lose time waiting for her. AK wastes no time in drawing a fucking happy face on the back of my neck. I am now cursing my new haircut. She then proceeds to sing every Sifl and Olly song known to man and attempt to order me to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

Well, finally the SM shows and gets us all going. I'm drinking the apology soda she bought us and trying to improve my mood when she tells everyone to unwind the scanner cords. She then turn to me and goes "And we unroll them all the way, don't we?" This was a direct jab to the LAST inventory we did where she told me to unwind all the cords and I did it wrong and she yelled and made me sad. So this upset me even more, cuz I was all miffed and sensitive at this point, anyway.

Again I try to suck it up. I hop on a counter and wait for the computers to get set up. The SM asks what section of the store I want to scan, and Mini-MOD pipes up and says "Anything as long as you can do it from the counter, right Lauren? Want me to get you a Riverfront Times to read? A new batch just came in on Wed." And THIS was a flashback to MOD-sama making fun of me for reading the RFT on Tuesday nights when we haven't had a customer in store for hours. Oh, he can watch TV...but I can't fucking read a newspaper.

I had already told Mini-MOD that I didn't find that whole situation funny AT ALL, and at this point I was so angry at AK for being annoying as all hell and at him for smirking like Satan's little bitch that I fled to the girl's bathroom and tried very hard not to cry. I did anyway.

Well, I make it to where my eyes look bloodshot but not moist and camp out in the back of the store away from the rest of the employees. It was the section I was supposed to scan, anyway, so I figured I might as well start out there,

Anyway, thirty minutes later we finally get the computers working, and inventory starts....then the computers freeze again, and inventory stops. So then it was all heavy lifting and wrist aching as we cleaned up and went home from an utterly horrible, failed night.

I hate them. And I have to work with the Mini-MOD on Sunday. I hope he either realizes he made me cry by then, cuz I think he suspects, or I get over it. Maybe both. But then again, if he knew for sure, he'd just make fun of me.

AAH! Scottish men (or man) work at Saturn!!

<3!> "I have to ask. What are you doing?"< / a c c e n t > And I was all "Playin a game, yo." (Only not.)

Well, anyway, he was all impressed because <> "I didn't think girls played those kind of games." < / a c c e n t > I just smiled sweetly and thought back to the Fantasy Shop encounter.

Then this other dude walks by and goes "That's an awesome laptop. Numberpad. Yes. I envy you." And I was all like, "why thank you" and <>. Only no.

This was the most amazingly bad night of my life. And by life I meant week. ((I said week in my head. I did.)) Here is a simple list of everything that went wrong:

1) Fam and I had yet another "miscommunication" about the hotel thing. In other words, when I said "Look, here's the hotel and the dates I want, all you have to do is call this number and give them some money for me while I'm working tonight", I obviously meant "These hotels are too expensive. Let's find three new ones for $50 a night in a different fucking city. So guess what I had to do tonight, boys and girls? Yeah. My biggest beef with this was while I was underlining the SPECIFIC ROOM we wanted, I was asking her "So, you know you will be BOOKING this, right?" And she rolled her eyes at me. I figured I was being a bitch and did not try to pound it into her head any further. ((Serves me right.))

2) Unc made me cry in public again tonight. Fam took it as a personal affront when I mentioned that I was stressed out my the whole trip planning thing and stormed away from the dinner table. Unc then proceeded to upbraid me about it, saying that I needed to stop fighting with her, "It is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen"....etc. Fam then returns and begins yelling at me about it despite my request to continue the conversation in a non-public place when I did not feel like skeweringherintheeyewithmyundercookedgreenbeans.

3) My mahi-mahi was undercooked and there was bacon in my potato soup.

4) MiniFam was out in public again, which meant disapproving stares as she ran about the room wildly poking people and grinning through her paci. Fam was, of course, too busy reprimading me for crying quietly at the table to notice this.

5) I made hotel reservations only in order to discover that you must be 19 to be in the hotel. Waited on hold for twenty minutes to find out that if Unc calls, they'll probably let us stay anyway. So now I have to get HIM to do something. JEEEZ.

6) Fam said, and I quote "Hey, this will really top your night. I spoke the the architect about adding on to our house, and he says we'll need to move out from May to July."

And what is THAT shit?! Fam and Unc have this GREAT idea to travel as a family for three months! NO!! NONONONONONONO!! This is my summer before college! I was basically planning on staying home and chilling, but no! I have to fucking go up to where I'll be spending the next eight months in two months early with the Damily and away from my friends, who are the only real reason I'm sad to be leaving in the fall? AWW, Hell no. They can go where they want. I'll just uh, tent in the front yard. Alone.

I mean really. Why the hell do we need the add-ons? And why the hell does it have to affect me?! I certainly don't care if we have two more guest bedrooms! And neither do the guests we will n e v e r b e h o s t i n g !!

Fam was right. That really WAS the culmination of my night.

7) Philosophy paper. I just want to fucking kill something right now. And I'm so sleepy. Less than four hours sleep, nearly no food, and a three-mile walk are not conducive to lucidity. But they evidenly increase my vocabulary.

The Raichle Bathroom As It Is

It seemed like a gorgeous idea in my head. When she said "slipper" bathtub, I pictured that beautiful wooden, high-backed, clawfooted, utterly gigantic tub from Secretary (go watch that movie now.) When she said stone floors, I pictured irregularly shaped and spaced cobbling, and somehow in my head it was tasteful. I think it was because I added in lots of plants, steam, a birdcage, and about 20 extra feet of space. And it matched whatever bold color the walls would be.

What did I end up with? Grey floors, salmon-colored walls, brown and beige towels. Gold tub fixtures mixed with brass towel rods. Did she think it wasn't going to be noticable? And, for some reason, a green floor mat. Green.

The tub is not wooden. It is porcelain and really FREAKING COLD ON YOUR BACK. It is not high-backed, so you have to slouch, and it's too short for you to stretch out and really relax in. It is not claw-footed. There is air in the pipes, so when you drain it, it makes a deafening gurgling noise that reverberates throughout the whole stony interior. Finally, it is terrifying to get out of. I don't know why. it just is. You simply feel like you're g o n n a d i e.

I don't know what went wrong. This is the bathroom people are going to SEE! Why make it the odd one??

I think it's cuz Fam picked the tile and Unc chose the wall color and they collaborated later and decided they didn't care.

I wish they'd have asked me.

Satire, baby

So, I just wrote my satire. Well, last night I did. I'm doing the finishing touches now. But I just wanted to say that my wireless internet works in the kitchen and my room, but NOT in the study. I think The Uber Machine has a bad sense of humor.

2.05.2004

Guess WHAT boys and girls?!!!

Alright. So I had the LDB all ready to come over and help me out with the frigging internet for my laptop, right? Well, it turns out he couldn't come over "because the roads are too bad" ((::sigh:: moms))... but it's all good. It worked out in the end and saved me from looking like a TOTAL DUMBASS.

Cuz guess what? I had Tiny One over, and I was showing her how it wasn't working....and the Stupid Little Fucker (which is what I named my wireless connection last night) decided to work. As I was saying "See?!! It's not working!!" WHABAM! Yahoo! I was so pissed.

So this is the first entry typed from my laptop. I'm currently getting used to the kayboard and downloading AIM.

Something off of a Bath and Body Works room spray bottle

Native American legend states that Grandmother Earth so loved the cedar tree that she gave it a soul-soothing aroma.

Quite a few things bother me about this:

    1) Its Bath and Body Works and in my house. They use animal testing. Bastards.

    2) They don't state what Native American tribe. That is so frigging generic.

    3) GRANDmother Earth?!! Who's her kid?

    4) How the fuck do the asshats in advertising know this?

    5) "aroma" is a food word. Dinner has an aroma. A ceder tree has a "scent". I hear aroma, I think about how edible the tree smells.

    6) The scent isn't strong enough to overpower the stench of the peeflowers Fam insists must be grown in the bathroom and the kitchen each winter.

Also. I think I am a resident in the only house that has a paper shredder and does NOT do business work at home. Am I wrong? It just seems like such a ridiculous and WRETCHED thing to have in the study with me. I mean, it's perched on it's own trash can. We don't even STORE it.

And the trash can is empty.

2.01.2004

My life just flashed before my eyes

Sometimes I wonder what I'll be like when I'm an adult. Then I see Unc get angry, throw a TV remote, stomp up the steps, and slam three doors. And I figure I'll be pretty much the same as I am now. Depressing.

1.31.2004

HEH. Update on the counting to ten in japanese thing. I can now do 1-4, 8, and 10. That's it. That is ALL I have managed to beat into my brain. Oh, and I can remember the other numbers if I'm not trying to do it in order. SOOOOO screwed up!!

OK. I feel the need to write about exactly WHAT is going on at work.

Well, as you all know, DRICK has been spending most of his time on the phone recently while at work. He has also not been doing any closing duties. And he has pissed off more customers per night than I thought possible. I felt really bad because I like him as a person, but working with him was AWFUL! because I had to get the store all clean for close AND try to keep the customers happy because things always went even MORE downhill when he intervened for "situations". Also, he doesn't know how to do a lot of the manager stuff.

Well, other CSRs complained to MOD-sama, who doesn't really like DRICK, so he told Ms. SM about it. And she called us all aside seperately and asked us what had been going on. She then proceeded to warn DRICK about it and to tell him that he'd get written up if it kept on happening.

Well, it did keep on happening, and I was the one who got blamed for complaining about it when he got in trouble. So now he completely hates me and it is MORE AWFUL to work with him.

Ms. SM tried to keep him from blaming me by telling him that a lot of other people have complained, too. She may have used the term "everyone", actually. We've had managers at OTHER STORES call and complain about him because he calls them when he doesn't know how to do basic manager things. But, he has focused his hate on me. And I'm sad.

Hopefully, tho, he will be gone soon, and I asked Ms. SM to schedule me with him as little as is humanly possible. I know he got written up, and that's grounds for getting fired. He requested a transfer to another store, but Ms. SM told him no. When he asked why, she responded with "No one else will take you. You can't even do your job at THIS store." So now he kind of hates everyone. But, he's doing his job. Just very sulkily. And I think he's gotten BETTER at pissing off the customers.

::sigh:: My big beef, tho, is that I wasn't the first one to complain, so it's sad that I ended up being his most hated CSR. But, whatever. Soon it won't matter. And I guess I might as well get used to stress in the workplace.

Wait, why?!!

A funny note about mini-MOD. Today I went in to return my movies (NO LATE FEES, YAAAAAAAAAY!!!) and he said "Hey, somebody opened your box. I was really mad at them."

So I looked at where he was pointing, and it was a box that was labeled: "To: Lauren...Contents: drugs". It was obviously his handwriting. I just glared at him and tried really hard not to laugh. ><

Weird little associations I have

BAD ONES
1) Counting to ten in japanese. It is so stressful to me that I am having problems memorizing it for class-- and I get an adrenaline rush every time I try. But only when I have to count from 1 TO 10. In order. If I'm just using the numbers, say to give out my denwa bangou...(telephone number)...then I'm fine. And who gave me this bad association? The wife of my karate sensei. (::mutters:: BITCH.)

2) Led Zepplin. Specifically the "Lemon Song". The first time I ever had my mom get drunk AND angry at me was also the first time I heard this song. The worst part was that I ended up feeling guilty for not knowing why she was mad. This was before I understood that she didn't know, either.

3) That fucking kitchen and bath place on Manchester. I am NOT telling you why.

4) The kitchen. Specifically, cleaning the microwave. No one would get this one if I even TRIED to tell them, but it involves me being grounded to my room for eight months in a row.

5) Algonquin Park. I had a bad date there once. I don't think either of us are sure what quite went wrong, but the car getting stuck in snow may have had a LOT to do with it.

6) Sledding.

GOOD ONES (well, ambiguous, anyway)
For people I know, this is either the clothing I picture them in or what makes me think of them.

1) Tiny One: American Eagle and Pink Floyd. If in a cowboy hat, then knife.
2) Biker: The "not a bniker" convo (that's how she got the name). Headscarves, scarves. Stripes and bright colors.
3) SLAM: The Police (band) and that song "One Night in Bangkok". Oh, and shorts in winter. And BUM pullovers.
4) Mr. 7-7-7: Old raggedy-ass purple henley T and marijuana pocket pants. Jesus (the guy, not the expletive.)
5) Rose: Button-downs with cool tank tops. Orgy and Silverchair. Lump. (Not the "umarriagable" kind.)
6) Batman: polka dots. Trees.
7) Fam: red
8) Unc: leather. And not the scary kind.
9) Fro: black. And getting bruised.
10) I'm bored.

1.27.2004

No, I have absolutely no idea why there is a Playboy Bunny poster in Mrs. Walters' room now.

1.26.2004

::sigh::

This would be such a wonderful day if it wasn't so frigging cold and I didn't have to work tonight.

1.22.2004

Confide in me!!

HEH. Good song. Even though Kylie Minogue scares the holy hell outta me.

Only one thing I wanna write about-- MiniFam is in the kitchen screaming that she wants a bottle and throwing things. This is what has been happening for the past 15 minutes.

So, she's old enough to scream about it in complete sentences ((sentances)). Possibly she shouldn't be DRINKING THEM?!!!

1.20.2004

More Fun with the Damily

Unc: "What are you doing?"
Me: "Making mashed potatos."
Unc: "Why?"
Me: "Because I'm hungry."
Unc: "Oh, okay."

MMMMMM, breakfast

I'm not tired, I'm not cranky, and my breakfast is yummy. In short, it's morning, and I'm in a good mood. Something is seriously wrong.

.::AFTER SCHOOL EDIT::.
Today ruled. I don't know why. It went by slowly, but it went by well. The only bad point was 3rd hour, sitting there, forcing myself to not self-destruct so I could escape the Erratic Bitch.

But! I just got off the phone with the Admissions Office....albeit a very stuffy, punkass type of admissions counselor. He was all like "Since you're enrolled in another foreign language and you contacted us we {the royal we?) don't see any real problem with it. However, we will have a concern if you switch out of any other classes."

So I'm all confused by his stuffy, condescending tone. Was that a trick? I would have been fine if he hadn't gotten all "however" on my ass. ::unsure grin complete w/ anime sweat drop::

So, uh...what do you guys think? Should I go ahead and extricate myself from that class? Or should I suck it up?

The Many Misadventures of Me

Well, today was quite a day. I was in a most foul mood for much of it, too, but things have improved recently. IE I got the laptop I wanted. And, well, negotiations for the Senior Trip have begun anew.

Anyway. Back to the bad stuff. So, I had one goal for today, right? A singular mission. Shouldn't be too hard/ take too much time, ya know? I was gonna finish Rose's pres-net. So I headed off to Target because I had heard they had the type of paper I needed to complete said pres-net.

Well, I spend five minutes finding a parking space because everyone and their dog felt like going to Petsmart and Target today. Then I go on in and spend five minutes roaming around trying to find the crafts section. Then I realize that it's probably in the computer supplies section, so I roam around in THERE for a while trying to find it. At first I was elated because I thought I had accomplished my mission. Iron-on transfers for dark cotton shirts! YES!!! But no. Turns out that was an ADVERTISEMENT on the package for the WHITE COTTON transfers. And did Target stock both? Awww, heeeeeeell naw. That'd be too easy, ya know?

So then I figure I'll have to drive all the way up to Michael's, so I decide it's a good time to return my library books and a few long-overdue movies. So I drop the books off on the way and hit Michael's. They have absolutely nothing useful. I tried hard to find something. I really did. But they didn't feel like helping. So I was driving back down Manchester and I decided to stop into the Hallmark store, just in case, cuz I associate Hallmark with housewives who like making dumb photo-t-shirt keepsakes. Nope. No dice.

What about Kinko's? They have lots of printer paper stuff, right? Nope. Not THAT Kinko's, at least!

So....argh. I paid my late fee.

And tomorrow I'm gonna try Ben Franklin's.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo pissy. Argh.

Hmm. and if I see one more bad driver force me to wait ten minutes to make a left turn on manchester while the asshole behind me rolling his eyes and flipping me off because he can't see that there's a car in my way...the bazooka's coming outta the trunk and there are gonna be some fleshy charred spots on the asphalt.

XD

Note to self: In future, get out more. You'll like it.

1.17.2004

Does anyone get this Foxtrot comic??

A normal Fam Damily conversation:

Fam: "What do you have in the washer?"
Me: "Clothes."
Fam: "Oh, Ok."

Boondocks is the coolest comic ever, man. Word.

I was gonna just keep on bloggin' last night, but I was afraid of overkill on me hands. Since I can't touch type cuz I never bothered to learn I have my own system which works pretty well for the first hour or so. After that it hurts. ((I should probably re-think this.))

oh my fucking...Fam just came in and started freaking out about the fact that I haven't gone to the eye doctors. She assumes it's because she won't give me the number. I dunno why she can't seem to understand that I don't like trusting my eyesight to a guy with a bad eye and really bad garlic breath. Is it that hard to grasp? Well, there's more to it than that, but that's the vicious summary. Anyway, she gave me the number. Whoop-de-shit, I'm still probably not gonna call. I asked her if we could find a new doctor last November...and of course she won't help me find one we can both agree on, either. That's be too hard, wouldn't it, bitch. Yuh-huh, just go nap. Sorry to bother your day.

Anyway. That's not what I pulled this program up to rant about. I have more serious issues. Namely INAUSPICIOUS CHI!!! heh. I made the mistake of buying a feng shui book with some of my Borders money (they were buy two get one free. I bought that and a book on astrology and got a stetchbook free. It seemed like the thing to do at the time.) Well anyway, I was bored as all hell yesterday and decided to Feng Shui-tize my room. ツ。Que Disastre!
EVERYTHING is wrong!! My bed is in the Death Position, which gives unlucky chi, my night table is too close to the bed and is pointing sharply at it, I have a mirror facing my bed, the headboard is against a window, which causes headaches and illness, and I'm storing stuff underneath it, which is clutter, and also causes bad chi. But it doesn't end there. Oh no. I have a shar. In my room. Is nothing sacred?!! That is ALSO pointing at my futon!! (That poor futon never had a chance with its chi.)

But I can't move my futon. Because if I do it will be in the middle of the wall, which makes the sleeper feel insecure and unrested. And if I move my stereo over to where my bed is now, Fam will complain about the music being too loud every fucking time it's on volume one....and that's a whole 'nother category of inauspicious chi, ya know?

The electronics themselves are a problem, too! They're not supposed to be in there!! AAAH!!

So what can I do? I put my futon back up in couch form, because couches don't have a "head" or a "foot", so there is no longer any "Death Position". I cleared most of the crap out from under my bed, and the rest will soon be gone as soon as I clean out my closet. I'm going to go get new plants soon, because those help improve chi. And that's about all I can do. Possibly get rid of my night table and get that granite pedestal I wanted. Oh, and since there's too much metal, which is not my element, I may go get that nice black wooden futon frame. I told myself I'd get one when I had my own apartment and the futon was my couch, but why wait? XD I'm also going to move my mirror so it no longer faces the bed. And that's about all I can do.

Finally, be good to my Zen Garden and fountain. I'm SURE those cause auspicious chi. How can they not?!! And there is some small good news. I chose a good wall color, and the windows give off the right lighting.

So my room is savageable. But I also tested the rest of the house, and they are absolutely screwed. As soon as I get my laptop, baby, I am nevaaaah leavin' my room. I need all the auspicious chi I can get.

LOL, can you tell I found my new stress source? Bad chi? Heh. At least it's mostly harmless and it motivates me to keep my room clean and stay the fuck away from my family.

1.16.2004

"I just don't know what to do with myself!" screamed Jack White

And I agreed whole-heartedly. I really DON'T know what to do with myself. Yeah, I have that list, but...most of that isn't stuff that I actually NEED to do. Now that I got accepted I don't have to obsess over that or think about other colleges, but I can't really focus on planning FOR college yet because right now I don't have the slightest clue as to what the hell I need. And since I have no homework...there's absolutely NOTHING presenting itself for me to stress over. I feel like I should be actively searching it out. Must...replace...void...

I'd hate myself if I found a replacement stress source. I know I'm going to start stressing out about leaving soon, so if I knew what was good for me I'd be enjoying this more right now. But we all already know that I don't know what's good for me.

THINGS I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH TONIGHT:
1) clean room
2) talk to Unc about laptop
3) talk to Unc about senior trip
4) rotate futon mattress

Tomorrow I have to return that necklace, fill out the FAFSA, and hopefully buy new pants at Old Navy before going off to work. I also have to tell SLAM that I'm working till close and we can't go see a movie. I tried to call him today, but his cellphone must be dead or M.I.A. How me-esque. (Come to think of it....where IS my cell? Ohhhhh, in my CAAAAAR. That's useful.)

Well, there are a few things I KNOW I want to get done for college. I'm in a list-y mood, so here goes:
1) get new cellphone. Possibly switch to verizon. I want a plan that has free long distance and free text messaging.
2) Decide whether or not I want the stuff that allows you to turn your laptop into a desktop. That docking bay thingie. It might make it easier to watch movies on, so perhaps I should. Also, do I want a printer? I bet I do. HMMMM.
3) MINI-FRIDGE.
4) Bean bags. Black satin sheets. Lots of pillows. (ok, ok. Those are for my room. Well, not the bean bags.)
5) Give me back my fucking BOOKSHELF, Fam. Your taxes are not worthy of filling its space.
6) That was unrelated.

And what EVER shall I buy with my "end of the year" money?

1) Serial Experiments Lain perfect collection
2) Those cool contact lenses ::insert satanic smile::
3) $100 worth of CDs

Be proud of me. That's only $500 worth of stuff. I originally had planned to blow $1000.

Hey. So, my birthday is evidently less than a month away, right? Well, I think I wanna rent out a big room in a restaurant and have lots of people come and eat food and maybe we can play some games, what. I dunno where I wanna go, tho. Pizza is a no-no, and lots of mexican or chinese in one room might prove to be a bad thing. LOL! The Einstein's up in Old Orchard has a conference room they rent out! But no, I want a night-time type place with real food. Unc has had a few "large banquets" ((crap)) in his day, perhaps I should consult with him.

::enter Wren. Unc sitting on couch in blanket staring at tv.::
Wren: "Hey, unc?"
Unc: "hmmmmmm?"
Wren: "So, birthday dinner."
Unc: ::grunt::
Wren: "Ideas?"
Unc: "huh?"
::exit Wren in huffy manner::

It's probably not worth making the effort, really. It all depends on his mood. Sometimes he feels like getting all into it and being helpful, other times I think I catch him when he's attempting to meditate as a vegetable. People don't get all help-y to others who have obstructed their Flow.

I think I'm gonna go fill out that F-ing FAFSA form right now. This entry is getting more pointless by the letter, and I don't see things going uphill anytime soon.

4) Library Books need to go home
5) Spend gift certificates
6) Clean room and Feng shui-tize it with my new book. (::I hate me:: LOL)

8) Car. Something. ANYTHING. As long as the interior changes. Good grief.
9) Oh. And, uh...figure out what that flashing warning light on my dashboard is trying to tell me.

Went to the city museum with Ms. Batgirl today. Rose, have you ever considered shopping for your hat there? You should check it out, yo. They's got tons. Anyway. We had a smashing time and I didn't get stuck anywhere this time around. I did, however, make my head bleed. Well, I assume so, cuz I have a scab now. Whatevah.

Ah. Time to go let four days sans h/w seep in. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

1.14.2004

The road to Hell is paved with the bleeding corpses of those you killed to realize your dream Griffith-san, desu ne?

I feel very optimistic today. Finals are almost over. Tomorrow I can stop freaking out and annoying everyone about college (i.e. move on and start fully freaking out about leaving all you guys.) It will be interesting tomorrow. Between finding out if I got in and going to the City Museum, I think I'm gonna be a nervous wreck. Or at least verrrr high-strung.

I'm so relaxed. I came home and felt kind of nasty and gross for the second day running so I hopped in the shower with me downtempo playing in the BG. I shaved and did all that girly, dumb stuff like plucking my eyebrows. I hate doing it, but I always feel so much TIDIER afterwards. I also took pity on my hair and conditioned it because it was looking pretty fried. So here I am, all relaxed and smell-good. And now I have to go mmze the last three lines of hiragana for the final tomorrow.

My New Mantra

"If I can make it until Thursday at three when the mail arrives, I will be sane forevermore."

Le first day de finales reales.

Well. Sort of. Argh, lost all will to write.

.::EDIT 3:16 PM::.

Well, after a lot of reading and a short nap which was interrupted quite oddly by a phone call asking for Rose's whereabouts I feel ready to tackle the massive amounts of studying in store for me. Though allow me to mention in passing that the Heavenly Body's bodyfriend's voice is odd and unlike him over the phone. Nicer, maybe? Not calling him un-nice!!! I have no idea how to explain it, but I'm not sure I'm happy I got woken up.

Where is Rose, anyway? It seems like she's forgotten every plan she made originally today. It's ok, cuz I didn't really have time to hang out with her anyway. Plus, I am not about to get upset about previously-made plans.

The blog fever has spread. Now SK has one. What have I done?!! LOL...yes. I have shown a good and obnoxious thing to the world. Of course. What else would I be good for?

Now to the original topic that I clicked the damn link to type about in the first place:
As Rose was putting half of an amazing, 1/3 potency rum cake into my back seat today, she said something that struck me as very fitting about my car. "Is it just me, or is the trash receding?"

It was the "receding" part that got me. It was like in that one little word she had summed up the fact that my car has a mind of its own, and I have no control over it. The trash creeps out its tendrils, takes over, then recedes, fades...yet it always returns. And what the hell is up with the dashboard? I dust that bastard weekly. It really amazes me.

1.12.2004

BooDAWG!! (Don't ask.)

Well, I think I did simply smashingly on all of my tests today. Though my hand is sore from too much writing. Geez, it's US History AP all over again. ((Never look back!!!))

Hmmmm. I have to work tonight, so I desperately need to be studying for my math final tomorrow AM, but I also desperately need a break. The sad thing is, I also desperately need money, so I can't not go in. Yes, I'm desperate, ok? Shut up already. XP

Ok, ok. I also admit to feeling pretty confident about how I'll do tomorrow. All I really have to do is take notes and learn how to do one type of problem. I'm all good for the rest. But...my Reg final....that's another story. I really should have taken notes, you know? But that's ok, I'll just suck it up and get what I deserve. Speaking of, that Peg paper I did the night before/ the day of? Got a B. LOL. I didn't expect such niceness. I also got a B on my math test, which is as I expected. B's in math are good for me. I usually get high C's. =( My one weakness. Heh. Besides soda. And the list goes on. My one weakness.

Also, I hear from Biker that the ASSt. final is incredible hard. Plus I have no more of the worksheets we need. I fucked myself over in that class. I am such a dumbass sometimes (for some reason I just typed "dumbass" as dambadd )...

Alright. I should go do something else that may evolve into studying/ changing for work/ cleaning my room....

fuck me.

.::EDIT::.
Wait, one more thing. I was standing in the kitchen carving up a chicken for dinner when in walks my husband Wilbur in a jealous rage making myself a sandwich and wondering about that odd sucking noise coming from behind me. I then realize that it's Mini-Fam, my almost four-year-old little cousin...sucking away on her paci. She's also holding a bottle.

So here's a shot out to Fam:

DO THE WORLD A FAVOR AND MAKE YOUR BRAT GROW THE FUCK UP.

...says the pissy 17-year old who doesn't want to go to college. Grow the fuck up. Right. Take your own damn advice, hey?

1.11.2004

MMMMM. I dunno if I can take this all-day studyTHON. However, I have made massive amounts of progress. Simply massive, what. All ready for whatever the Wicked Grammar Witch throws at me on Monday...and I have more spanish train/car vocab drilled into my head than, well, quite possibly brain cells. Still, I have to go over airport vocab and camping/sports vocab. And try to remember the sequence of tenses. And sleep.

And, possibly, prevent my head from exploding. Ah well. Whatever else happens, at least I uh...have no clue how to end this sentence.

One of my little idiosyncrasies? Yes, I always want to spell sentence "sentance". Oh yes. Because that's how it is pronounced in my hometown. Just like my run-in with "nucular" bombs. You know, since they're "nukes", they have to be "nucular". "Nuclear" would be too, you know, right.

1.10.2004

::sigh:: Where have all the cookies gone?

Ah. I woke up at 10 and immediately got started studying for finals since I have to work tonight. And tomorrow night. And Monday night. It's ok, tho, cuz I can get a ton of stuff done this weekend. A.K. evidently was going to offer to trade me Monday night for Thursday night, but I don't wanna, cuz I'm a) busy Thursday, and b) I'd be working with D-Rick. Moron. So Monday it is for me!!

::Sigh:: more to talk about, not enough time. I'll try to edit this on the next break I allow myself.

EDIT 12:56 AM.

Yeah. A.K. took over my Sunday shift, so tomorrow I can do dat studying thang. I'm uh, gonna go crash.

Annoyances 3:4

So a kid, around 19, signs up a new account. He decides to rent Sled Storm, and then never comes back. Well, ok. Gord left a couple messages to return the game, but no luck.

Eventually the young adult phones and says he returned it. Uh-huh窶ヲ That's right.

So Gord forwards the account to collections.

One day a few months later this lady walks in and starts yelling about how Gord sent her son to collections and ruined his credit rating so now he can't buy a car or stereo or something.

Gord points out the obvious point that he stole a game and is a poor credit risk.

Then the mother throws the game on the counter and says that the game is now back and I have to fix his credit.

"Ma'am, first off, the game is destroyed. Look at it. Second, I've replaced the game already so I don't want it back. Instead, I seek the money for my cost on replacing it and the late fees he owed. Third, your son claimed he returned it. "

This just sets her off. Something about how it's not her son's fault that he stole the game.

"How is it not his fault?"

"Because I brought it back."

"That excuses the original theft and lying to me?"

"It's not his fault he lied and tried to steal it!"

"Might I ask whose fault it is then?"

Anyway, she starts yelling some more about how her son is never going to rent from Gord ever again. Gord points out that was exactly his point and that he had already closed the account when it was sent to collections. So she stormed out.

The Gord often wonders why people threaten to never come back after they've been told never to return.

I remember a few customers' mothers who were oddly like this.

Excerpt from the Book of Gord-- Annoyances 2:1

For those of you who don't know Gord, he is the owner of a small non-chain gaming store somewhere in what may be Canada. WHat makes him so special is that he's actually allowed to tell the customers what he thinks....cuz it's not like anyone will fire him. I worship him. I want to someday be in a situation where I may emulate him.

"Do you have any used dual shock controllers?"

No I don't.

"Yes you do!"

I do?

"Right there!"

Those are the controllers for the demo machine.

"And right there!"

Those belong to the rental units.

"Just sell me one of those."

And what would I use for rental machines?

"You could open new ones for those. "

Uhm, no.

"Why don't you have any used controllers?"

Because they usually only come in with a used machine. As such, I sell them with the machines.

"So sell me one of those."

And sell the machine with no controllers? That'll go over well.

"You don't want my business!"

How about I sell you something I have in stock like a new controller?

"I'll take my business elsewhere."

Would you mind? I would appreciate that.

1.08.2004

Happy Birthday, Stephen Hawking!!!

I woke up late today, and expected it to suck from then on, but I actually had a really good day. My hair spiked right for the first time all week, I got hot cocoa for breakfast, had fun in Japanese and Astronomy, ignored the profesora and wrote all hour, managed to convince The Wicked Grammar Witch I had done my reading even though I'd had no idea we had homework, bugged some new people at lunch, learned how to make danishes 6th hour

(AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!),
and started laughing really hard at Da LDB in math class. Why, you ask? Well, he was really sleepy, so every time I looked over, his head would dip forward, then jerk back again, then slowly sink foreward, then jerk back...for 10 minutes!!! I finally started laughing so hard he woke up, so I kept on hitting him every few minutes to make sure he wouldn't start doing it again. It was, in a way, absolutely horrifying.

Also, I wore two new shirts today: A black taffeta wrap top, and a light blue button-down. I did the layering thing cuz I figured it would be cold. Also, I had no idea until I got to school that the black shirt was barely visible...so I walked around all day with my "bra" showing. LOL. Only I knew I wasn't being a skank. It was nice, in a way. HMMM. I may have to re-think myself.

1.07.2004

::sigh::

Damn template just removed half my sidebar.
But, cutty-pasty fixy all-y!

Well, I finally got the CSS profile done. Fam was supposed to do it while I was at school. Well, I come home, and of course she hasn't, cuz she has been "busy". I asked her if she napped today. She said "yes", and didn't seem to get the point. I wish I could renege on all my promises and sleep all day, too. She has given me hope for my future. "Note to Self: spend my 30's sleeping!!" Yes, that will do a lot for me.

I should go to bed and catch up on me sleep-y, but I have a CD to karmically endorse before I hand it over to its new master. Unlike this anonymous person I do test drive my presents to make sure they won't kill the givee. ::hmph::

1.06.2004

Future plans

1) college
2) buy a horse house
3) get a fun... ... ... fun job.
4) open cafe with Ms. Batgirl.
5) get real ambition. ((ha))

New Flavor Added!!

"Shakespeared"-- the best british breakfast non-brits can buy.

1.05.2004

New Flavors

"Sweet Fuck"-- comes pre-sugared. More thrill, less work. You know you want it.
"Apricot Fuck"-- For those who enjoy things a bit fruitier.
"Fucking Hell"-- Headache? Drink this! Caffeine enhances the effects of pain-killers!!
"Fuck You"-- We packed a little something "extra" for the ones you don't love (or the ones you do, if you're sadistic.)
"Who's Your Daddy"-- Gives you that extra clarity you need to tackle some of life's bigger questions.

And, because every other company has a PMS tea line now:
"He's Just a Dude"-- Ladies, drink this, and please, don't beat him up when he says you're being moody.

Sad thing is, I actually want to do that tea thing. And I now have a partner in crime. More flavors soon to come.

This college thing should just get its ass over and done with so's I can relax and drop all my classes.

Fam and financial aid don't mix. Really. I get the feeling that we'd get along a lot better if I wasn't taking her money.

1.04.2004

My life sucks. I don't want to go to college, I don't want to get up and carpe the fucking diem anymore. My job sucks, too, but I like money. If I could just find a nice job that had no people. Maybe I should plant some tea trees and start my own company. I could call it, oh.... Buy My Fucking Tea or Die Incorporated. It'd be great-- I could market to all the other angsty, shallow teenagers out there who feel just like me.

C'mon. You know you'd buy it just cuz it'd have "fuck" on the label. It'd be a great stocking stuffer! In flavors like:

"Stop Whining"-- A relaxing herbal blend to make you shut the hell up and stop pissing off your friends
"Intravenous Caffeine"-- Because if we made it any stronger, it'd be illegal. Syringe optional.
"Get The Hell Out of Bed, Punk"-- Haven't written that paper that's due first hour yet? Chug this, baby. You'll never blink again.
"The World Hates You"-- Just admit it, drink my tea, and get over it. No one cares. Except me, getting rich off your emo gullibility.

I am laughing really hard right now. Oh yes. It's really sad.

12.26.2003

That last entry is not going to cut it. I've had a kind of sucky night, and I want everyone and their dog to commiserate with me. Now, bitches. Do it.

Shopping at the mall was fun while I was there, but now I have more proof that I can never tell when Biker is upset. And that makes me really sad! UNDERSTATEMENT!! How the hell am I supposed to fix it if I don't know anything is wrong!!? I absolutely HATE it when my friends are upset. HATE HATE HATE. I feel just as bad when they're upset at ME as when they aren't. In my stupid, fucked up little mind everything is supposed to be all perfect and stress free, and we all get along, and it's all kum-ba-yah and s'mores, damnit!!!! If I could change my fucking ideal, I would. It'd be a lot easier for me to sleep at night. ((fuck fuck fuck. Get the fucking soap.))

Also...Christmas depresses me. I thought I'd be able to not fall in the hole this year, but I just got done opening presents alone in the study. And all the presents were from people that don't really know me. Yes, it's the same old story. And yes, it's probably partially my fault. But I'm sorry if I can't just whole-heartedly forget my old family and adopt this one. They don't really know what to do with me. I'm just kind of t h e r e. My problem is that makes me feel really lonely. And I hate feeling alone. It's really scary. And every since I moved here I haven't managed to get over it. I love my friends. When I'm with them, I feel like I'm supposed to be here. But my family...they are so good at making me feel, always just slighty, out of place.

I really need a hug, you guys.

But don't give me one next time you see me. Because by them I'll be over it, and I'll probably just hit you for touching me. =D

=(

Of all the cool people I know, and all the great friends I have, I'm the last one I'd be jealous of. Every one of my friends have their own great qualities and their own quirks, and they don't need to be any different.

12.24.2003

'Tis the season...

...for me to want to murder every last person who shares a drop of my blood. It may be because I just finished rolling and tying 50 one-dollar bills to cram in people's stockings. It could be because, yet again, my family is going to McDonald's for dinner. They absolutely REFUSE to go someplace I can eat so I can go with them. Or maybe because Fam told me to do a few chores, "for once?!" ::sigh:: So I told her I'd straighten, and I go out to straighten, and she did it already. So then I sweep the friggin kitchen, and she tells me later that I missed a spot. IE the FAMILY ROOM. Which she NEVER includes as part of the kitchen. Or, it could just be because she tore me from Ms. Batgirl's book and Quelnt's CD. I dunno. But, the house reeks of Unc's cologne, its chicken ramen for dinner, and I am a s p i s s y a s a l l h e l l.

Oh, FUUUUCK. And now they're pushing me out the door without letting me eat said ramen.

::sigh::

12.23.2003

Satisfied with everything but my moronic tendencies.

Such as constantly making an ass out of myself via blog.

WHEE!!

I had a lot of fun with Quelnt tonight....even though I can't decide whether that smell is new shoe leather or smoke. Evidently standing upwind of him while he smoked was not meant to be. There WAS no upwind. LOL. Anyway. I was afraid that, since he had told me he was really shy, that there would be a lot of awkward silence and little conversation. Nope. He chipped in, he had opinions, and he didn't seem shy at all. Twas fantastic. However, he DID take the seat of power. GRRR. So I spent the whole night watching the people behind me in the window.

Ah, hell. I probably made an ass out of myself and he'll never speak to me again. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA-HAHAHAaaaaaa.....

Damnit. I can't remember whether or not that was supposed to be a joke. But now that I think about it, we had a convo about why I don't like guys to have any opinion about my physical features (It was relevant. I am not self-centered. Oh no, more worrying!), and I'm now afraid that I sounded arrogant. "Oh, I'm so hot, and it's annoying as all hell." When that's not what I meant at all. Nah. I'll just trust that he is smarter than that.

Great. Now I feel arrogant for TYPING THAT.

I DO NOT THINK I AM A SEXY BITCH!!! NGAAAAH!!

I also don't think I'm ugly. I am, hmmmm. Satisfied?

Mostly, yeah.

Sorry to all of you who read this.

TWO CONVERSATIONS

CONVO #1 (Me (Glo) and Biker)

Glo: Poor Quelnt. I'm being difficult.
Biker: ?? how so?
Glo: =D I'm me. Let's just say we're having issues picking a place for tonight.
Glo: LOL, and now we're discussing you.
Biker: me? y are you guys discussing me?
Glo: cuz you like Kaldi's.
Biker: i do! it's SUCH A GREAT PLACE!!!

CONVO #2 (Me and Quelnt)

Quelnt: well, there is kaldi's which is near you
Quelnt: fairly
Glo: yep. I've never been there, but I mentioned it once to my friend Biker and she almost died.
Quelnt: why did she almost die?
Glo: she loves Kaldi's. It was a joy thing. She dies of happiness a lot. Very bubbly. Wears lots of scarves.
Quelnt: hehehe
Glo: she's gonna kill me.
Quelnt: what, for going there?
Glo: no, for saying that about her.
Quelnt: i wont tell
Glo: I probably will.

12.22.2003

Crisis averted. This morning I realized that I have to work Tuesday from five 'till midnight. However, I obviously had made plans past six. Well...I called up AK, who was on call, and she switched with me. So now I am on call. But MOD-sama is working, so he won't call me in. So it's all good.

Just spent an insane amount of time with Biker in the mall, but came back with five shirts, three pairs of shoes, and a ton of new earrings. All I have to do now is get new pants, but for that I'll wait until after Christmas, because I think I'll be getting a few gift cards to clothing stores. I desperately need pants, though, to go with my new tops. And well, I could use some new work pants, too. Yeah understatement. Sooner or later someone is going to notice that they are ripped. And it will probably be the DL.

Spaghetti tonight. I hope the sauce doesn't suck this time. And I wonder whether or not she'll be serving any veggies. I swear I am the only one who buys green leafy stuff in this house. Which is VERY SAD, because I don't really like veggies!! NGAAAAAAAH to them.

12.21.2003

Man...my room is SO FILTHY. But I have about $30 in change from working on cleaning it, I swear. So in a way, it's not all that bad. I do need to get it clean, tho, so I can buy new plants and make my room all happy again. Since the Damily has said no to a freaking cockatiel, I assume I shall be getting myself a tank of fish. Well, I probably shouldn't, since I'll be going off to college soon, anyway, and knowing my luck my room-mate would have a fish phobia.

GRAAAAAA. I must admit to a few qualms about "meeting" Quelnt. No, not because I'm afraid he's going to rape me, like Biker says, because I have all faith in my ability to kick his ass if need be (no offense to him at all! I can kick ANY guy's butt!). Stop laughing. It's just that I have this thing about meeting new people. I am deathly afraid of new people. And new places. And I'll be meeting a new person in a new place...and despite the fact that I know (knew) what he looks like and I talk to him online...he's still new. Does anyone get that? Oh well. I'm not gonna back out and whine about it being too cold to leave the house this time, LOL.

And don't worry, MS-DJ. You're not new, so I have no problem with meeting you for some caffeine and catching up on old times. LOL. No, because then I can smile at you threateningly and you can wonder whether or not you'll survive the outing. Twill be grand fun, I say.

Well....I'm doing laundry, so I should have clean clothes by the time seven 'o'th clock comes around. Then it's off to see the Return of the King!! ::EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE:: I am such a dork! But I adore those movies! And I am pround so say NOT because of Orlando Bloom. And especially not Liv Tyler. Stupid thing looks like she's always on the verge of tears. It's annoying. I just like the pretty trees. And the horses. And the orcs. BWAHAHAHA, orcs. Mrs. Carmell, anyone?

I am so evil. But that image still makes me laugh hysterically.

12.20.2003

All bets are off due to the amazing wonderful-ness that is Biker. Only now I am paranoid that EVERYONE is going to get it for me. Please no, SLAM. Please no.

HMMM. Well, my Christmas shopping is finally done. All I have to do is finish Rose's thingy. For a third time. Damn iron-ons. Also, I need to see if Fam is getting SLAM a present. Pres-net. And, well, now I am going to get mrs. batgirl a present (presnet). I saw something a while ago that I wanted to get her. So I'll order it and give it to her eventually. I was really shocked that she got me something since we haven't known each other all that long. It was really unexpected. And I guess it just proves how cool she is. BWAHAHAHAHA.

I have to work tonight. Well, active sell. So I'll be getting yelled at by grumpy shoppers/ feeding the monster. My only hope is that everyone will be out Christmas shopping and won't come to rent a movie. I mean, it's CHRISTMAS. Why the HELL aren't you all home with your families? That's what MOD-sama, who always works holidays, says to customers who come in. "GO HOME AND BE WITH YOUR FAMILY!!". Actually, working on holidays isn't always so bad. They let us put in music/ movies and have video cart races.

Yeah, you're right. That's pretty pathetic. < h u f f y > But it's still cool!! < / h u f f y >

So, who wants to bet me dinner that I won't get Clinique Happy for the seventh year running?

12.18.2003

I have no memory of eating a pear on December 09.

I'm BAA-AAAACK...

Aaaaaaaaand, despite what you all say about my cough, perfectly healthy. Damnit. Listen to me. (Don't start. I hate you. (Yes, you know who you are. The one screaming "DOCTOR! ORANGE JUICE!!"))

So anyway!! I had a good week, regardless of all the make-up work, the lack of sleep, and the general melodrama that goes hand in hand with accepting the fact that people exist. Gah. Sometimes I feel that I am destined for hermithood. When I walk down the hall and want to murder everyone for just being there, I know I have some sort of unhealthy antisocial tendency.

Hmmm. The Japanese class had better be good tomorrow, because I am bringing them gummi, pocky, and some sort of fish-flavored snack. Uh, I might wanna re-read the package. We're having an eat food and watch anime "party", and I want to make sure there's actually food. Plus, Fam paid. Sort of. It was blackmail. She told me she's reimburse me if I unloaded the dishwasher. Ten bucks for ten minutes of my time. Hmmmm. I wish I had that kind of a day job. Well, minus Fam and the dishes.

I must admit to being a bit worried about Ms. Batgirl having access to my locker. Not only am I worried about what is going to happen in response to the paper mache carrot, but she wanted to steal my keys today because my car doesn't like her. Had they not been there when I opened my locker I would have spazzed out completely and never even thought of her as the culprit. And I have this sneaking feeling that she wouldn't have told me until after I was stressed beyond all reason. ((::raaaaaaa::)) Nevertheless...she might be wanting to watch her back if she plans on going through any doors near me soon. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I know, I lost most of you. Allow me to reiterate: I don't write this for you, Random Reader. Yes, you. (See first set of parenthesis.)

So, uh...anyone want a cookie tomorrow? I, uh, am sure they'll be ok....despite everything.... ::heh::

I need to crack down and give this damn thing a purpose. I'm losing my "comedic edge".

12.09.2003

1:30 AM

100.4 degree fever. 'Twas nice knowing you all.

Hee. Am all ready for Stage 2 of Ms. Batgirl Locker Defacement Project. Allow me to repeat that hee.

Alright! I'm feeling quite chipper! Which is bad, because I should be in bed because of school tomorrow and the like! Oh, I am so glad tomorrow is a day four. That means I've managed to go an insanely long time without having to put up with Mrs. Rancid Soup! ((Note to self:: Think of a better name for her!!))

Hmph. Am listening to Quelnt's music...and I just realized why that one song of his sounds like monkeys. ::sigh::

Enough rambling on to you, Mr. I-Won't-Come-Save-Wren-When-She's-Bored!!! Time to yell at Fro! Where ARE you! I'm bored! I need emotional...uh...I need emotions!!

And...I should probably go to bed. Chipper is not emotion prime for the me. Is it. You. Bastards...

AGH!!! Salvame!!!!!

Why Christmas shopping sucks

I've been surfing the web since I woke up at 10 AM today and I still have no clue what to get SLAM. Ah, well. Oh crap, or Fro! Damnit!! DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT!!! I was so relieved to have finally finished his birthday comic that I completely forgot I should get him something! ARGH.

Well, I do feel a bit better today, so I think I'll be able to go back to school tomorrow like I planned. I managed to eat a pear and keep it down...so who knows!
But, if I go back to school tomorrow, that means I must do homework. And I have a LOT of homework to do right now. I told myself I'd start it at noon, but I have a feeling that I will be putting it off- yet again... ::sigh::

Well, at least I can go type up my "academic resume" for Mrs. Useless. Then I might go play Pharoah.

12.08.2003

Ok! My fever's down cuz I kept my pills down, and I feel like a normal human being! Only sick! With really icky bedhead....ok, fine. I don't feel normal.

Hmmm. Ya know, nothing eventful at all happened today. I got twenty hours of sleep...worried about what my rug would do because of my humidifier...

Never mind. I have nothing to write about. This day has been a waste. Damn fever.

WheeHee

I just may have poured myself an overly ambitious mug of tea. But I need to take more pills because my fever is coming back, so we shall see.

Oh no, hold on. I think I'm going to be sick again.

Alright. I may have to halve the mug of tea.

Well, I was gonna write in here because I felt better....but I don't feel better anymore. So I'll try for a third time later on.

Wanna know what one of the more unpleasant feelings in life is? Sitting at a computer and letting a fever break. ARRRRGH.

I've been asleep all day. Don't expect to see me tomorrow, either, you guys.

Yeah. I know. It's a nice break.

12.06.2003

'Tis the Season

Well, I am sore and bruised all over. But I won the battle. At least I'll say I did. Except the whole fingerprint bruise thing...not cool.

Two interesting customers at work tonight. ((If I keep complaining about it I just might have to join the Blockbuster Livejournal Committee. Thanks, AK.)) I always have interesting little run-ins when I'm active selling (translation: feeding the monster). For example, I came up to this guy tonight and did the usual "Can I help you find anything?" He kinda grunts, but doesn't try to beat me with his movie, so I ask him if he's planning on renting more than one movie. He says yes, and I tell him about our giftcard promotion. He says no thanks, so I say, to kind of lessen the sting of me hitting him up for money, "Well, here's a coupon to get you a new release ren-" and he cuts in. "Look, go bug that guy, ok?" I'm kinda surprised, and I say "But sir, this saves you-" and he goes "leave me alone!!!" and storms off. And then avoids me for the rest of his visit. ((inner child sobs: They hate me! I was just doing my job!!)) But then he's obviously having trouble finding a movie, but refuses to ask me to help him, and I know better than to ask. Well, it turns out, that after fifteen minutes of him roaming around trying to find it, he asks D Rick if we have one in stock. The movie? Pirates. The location of the only copy in the store? My hand. Was I smug? Oh, yessssss. Did I give it to him? Nope. ^^

Situation two: Guy comes in, asks for Bruce Almighty. We're out. So then he does the "Please lead me around by the hand and pick me out a movie because I can't make my own choices" thing. Well, I show him the new releases, make my recommendations, and it was all ok, 'till the end, when he says "thank you, sweetheart" in this dismissive tone. He was maybe MOD-sama's age (23). Then, every time he sees me until he leaves, he winks at me.

BLEK.

Ok, I'm off to force Quelnt to get coffee with me. Punkass.

::IMMENSE SIGH OF RELIEF::

Secret Mission Weekend Project is complete! And, since I really doubt you read this anyway, Fro, I'm going to admit- Yes, it IS your verylate birthday present. It's done, I'm tired...and I'm also terrified you're going to hate it. Or, take it the wrong way. So I'll just have to warn you in advance that not all comics are supposed to be funny...so this is in no way a jab at you.

Hmmm. And, I just wasted my typing on that, since I'm gonna have to tell him that before I give it to him this weekend (or Monday).

I'm sad. I put something in Ms. Batgirl's locker, but it's not nearly as cool as Munch...and she can't keep it. But maybe it will pull through. She might find it interesting after all. I just think I'm in one of my super-paranoid-artist-who-is-aware-her-comics-suck mode.

Hmmmm. Do I have time to draw another one tonight? It needn't be NEARLY as polished as that ((damned)) birthday gift one was. This had better prove my undying platonic love for you, Fro. We're talking infinite <3's radiating from, uh...I guess the comic's karma. If you don't appreciate it, I'm going to make you EAT all the failed drafts. ALL of the failed drafts.

I'm lonely.

So, I'm gonna go unload the dishwasher and work on my Secret Mission Weekend Project. Part 1.

OFF TO BED EARLY!!! I RULE!!!

Well, Tiny One doesn't like my hair cuz she says it's too boyish. It's a good thing I didn't get the cut that was spiky all over, ya know? HEH. This one is nice. It's short, and happily so, yet not punky, which is what I wanted to avoid at all costs. And that, Ms. Batgirl, is why it may not be as short as you expected. However, if ya still wanna feel the kinda spiky back, feel free. (Just don't lunge at me violently.)

Argh. Fam just said something so strange it made my heart stop. "I'm not really making you do chores anymore, so just pick up after yourself."
Did Hell just freeze over? And, more importantly, in what way is this going to come back to bite me in the rump later on?

Thanks to the weather I cannot go air up my bike tires as previously planned....but I DO have the outtakes from Pirates of the Carribean, so I guess I'll just do my usual and sit on my ass all night. No rump this time. Oh no. When laziness is involved, it becomes ass. ((Yes. This is another brief lesson in espeekee my language.)) Good grief, I need to start dancing again so I can at least pretend a semblance of activity.

Hmmm. Oh, back to commenting at Ms. Batgirl! I'm so glad you liked the CD! That practically made my LIIIIIIIFE. AAH! ::eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee::

That killed my train of thought...I'm gonna continue debugging my computer...hmph. No offense, Puzzling One, but your profile bites. Stupid little spyware punkass programs trying to eat my hard drive and molest my eyes with viagra pop-ups....

Fanatical Procrastination Queen

A few quick notes before I type up that paper that's due second hour:

1) Fam AND Unc have new cars now, and I can't decide which one is uglier. I thought I hated the Durango....oh baby. Fam is now driving a silver, uh... Pacifica? It's some Chrysler model that's a cross between a PT cruiser and a minivan. Unc now has a "Crossfire"...whatever that is...it's white, and it's a mini meets a miniVAN.

I am SO ANGRY! They are feeding the monster!!

2) I get my hair chopped off tomorrow!

3) I need to go on some different medication. This one is making my muscles all stiff and cramp-y (no, not THOSE cramps. Idiotic males.) I think it's also breaking me out. &*%$##! This is why I hate medicine in gerneral and doctors in particular.

I feel the need to say something witty about my day, but nothing witty happened.

Damnit. I wish Fro was online. He'd appreciate the humor of my new buddy icon. Well, he had BETTER. ((Do you even read this, dude? Send me a sign!!))

BLOG SPIES UNITE!!!

ugh. You know you have senioritis when you no longer feel like BREATHING. After I fold the freaking laundry for Fam I plan on going into my room, writing more notes for my paper, defacing another journal, and sleeping until further frigging notice. BLEHK.

I had the best idea for Rose's present this year. We're talking penultimate inspiration. ((And you know she's gonna hate it. )) Shut UP, Toulouse.

Still have no idea what to get Fam. I am considering wrapping a big box of nothing up for her, tho. That'd be fitting.

I put MY list up on the fridge. I better get something from it this year. No more Animal Kingdom chess set fiascos. I will never leave the purchasing ideas up to them EVER AGAIN.

Was really tempted to write "GET ME A FRIGGIN BIRD" in pencil at the bottom of the list. But I can't see any positive outcome to that at all.

OOH! And I have to write out my Christmas List!!

My Revenge

I'm giving the Animal Kingdom chess set to the Chess Club. BWAHAHAHA.

Guess what I get to do tonight, boys and girls? Did you say write a WHOLE PAPER? Yooooou're right! But- It's on Soto Zen Buddhism, and I always say, write what you know...plus it's interesting as all hell.

"All hell"...that's an odd phrase.

JANANANANANANANANA BATMAN!!!!!?
