'Tis the Season

Well, I am sore and bruised all over. But I won the battle. At least I'll say I did. Except the whole fingerprint bruise thing...not cool.

Two interesting customers at work tonight. ((If I keep complaining about it I just might have to join the Blockbuster Livejournal Committee. Thanks, AK.)) I always have interesting little run-ins when I'm active selling (translation: feeding the monster). For example, I came up to this guy tonight and did the usual "Can I help you find anything?" He kinda grunts, but doesn't try to beat me with his movie, so I ask him if he's planning on renting more than one movie. He says yes, and I tell him about our giftcard promotion. He says no thanks, so I say, to kind of lessen the sting of me hitting him up for money, "Well, here's a coupon to get you a new release ren-" and he cuts in. "Look, go bug that guy, ok?" I'm kinda surprised, and I say "But sir, this saves you-" and he goes "leave me alone!!!" and storms off. And then avoids me for the rest of his visit. ((inner child sobs: They hate me! I was just doing my job!!)) But then he's obviously having trouble finding a movie, but refuses to ask me to help him, and I know better than to ask. Well, it turns out, that after fifteen minutes of him roaming around trying to find it, he asks D Rick if we have one in stock. The movie? Pirates. The location of the only copy in the store? My hand. Was I smug? Oh, yessssss. Did I give it to him? Nope. ^^

Situation two: Guy comes in, asks for Bruce Almighty. We're out. So then he does the "Please lead me around by the hand and pick me out a movie because I can't make my own choices" thing. Well, I show him the new releases, make my recommendations, and it was all ok, 'till the end, when he says "thank you, sweetheart" in this dismissive tone. He was maybe MOD-sama's age (23). Then, every time he sees me until he leaves, he winks at me.

BLEK.

Ok, I'm off to force Quelnt to get coffee with me. Punkass.
