Sit Down and Shut Up.

I almost killed someone with my brain today.

There's this freshman in me and Maddo's Asian Societies class that is semi-stalking us. He's responsible for such gems as:
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you like purple."
"No, not really."
"Oh."
"...I was being sarcastic."
"...Oh! So why isn't your bike purple, too?"
"...Because I have some understanding of the term "overkill?"

He also eavesdrops on our conversations, stares at Maddo's tights, and watches me eat bagels. Needless to say, we don't really appreciate his existence.

Well, today I made him look like an idiot in front of the class. Maddo says it's possible that he might leave me alone now. One can only hope.

We were watching a video interview of Gandhi before he traveled to London to participate in the second Round Table conference. The interviewer was asking him if he'd wear European clothes or his traditional garb. Gandhi said he'd wear traditional clothing. The reporter asked if he'd do the same if he went to Buckingham Palace. Gandhi said yes.

The freshman goes off on a rant about how the interviewer kept asking him "trivial questions:"

"What is he going to WEAR? That is so stupid!"

My eyes go red.
"Actually, for the time, it's not. Him showing up half-naked in London would be considered incredibly offensive. Do you know how much of a scandal it would be if he went in his loincloth to see the Queen? He's taking a big risk and making a big statement by refusing to wear a European suit." A few people around the class nod and go "yeah."

"Yeah, but it doesn't matter what he wears..." mumbles Mr. I-Have-No-Way-to-Back-Up-My-Inane-Point.

"Yes, but it DID. It's possible that he could be jeopardizing his chances of making political changes by going over there in those clothes. But he does it anyway. Now it might not matter, but then it would be possible for them to refuse to see him if he wasn't in a suit. IT WAS A BIG DEAL."

And then the little son of a bitch rolled his eyes and said something stupid again. The guest speaker took this as her cue to take over and move on. And he sat there sulking for the rest of the class and I played Wizardry, fueled by my RAGE.
